Elementum is a multi-building residential development located in Long Bay, Auckland. The project comprises nine three-storey buildings delivering approximately 115 apartments and 15 terraced homes, with partial single-level basement carparking integrated into the sloping site. The development is constructed across a site with up to 11 m of elevation change, requiring building platforms to step with the natural topography and interface with previously engineered ground from earlier subdivision works.
ENGEO provided construction-phase geotechnical services across the development, supporting multiple building stages and associated infrastructure. Our role included site observation, subgrade testing, and verification of foundation conditions to confirm consistency with design assumptions. We assessed excavations for basements and building platforms, observed temporary cut batters, and verified pile embedment within East Coast Bays Formation bedrock where required.
Working closely with the contractor and design team, ENGEO provided responsive, site-based advice to support construction decisions as ground conditions varied across the site. Our involvement extended across multiple site visits throughout construction, providing continuity of technical input and contributing to compliant, buildable outcomes for the staged residential development.
